A dignified, well aged Benromach, presented in their bold packaging, newly redesigned as of 2020.
Matured in the classic combination of first fill sherry and former Bourbon casks for just over two decades, this bottling delivers tonnes of rich fruit and spice.
Benromach are known for doing things a little differently, using two types of yeast: brewer’s and distiller’s, and distilling in their very small (by industry standard) stills. This whisky is designed to recall the feel of Speysiders from the 1950s and 60s, with a faint touch of smokiness.
It all comes together to produce this bottling, the oldest permanent bottling in their range. The whisky offers notes of rich stewed dark fruits: plums, cherries and strawberries, accompanied by flavours of ginger, malty bread, black pepper, vanilla custard, toasted nuts, cream soda, and a faint, smouldering peat fire.
Bottled at 43% ABV for a little more body. Great stuff from the little distillery.
