This is a welcome 2015 addition to the tiny distillery’s rather wide range. As Benromach only came back into working order in 1998, this 15 year old is the first time a regular release could be bottled at this age with Gordon and MacPhail spirit. Benromach is largely thought to have improved under their ownership, so this is certainly one to try. Matured in a mixture of sherry and bourbon casks, this is a wonderfully luscious whisky, with fantastic vanilla and toffee notes from the bourbon cask, and delicious dried fruit flavours from the sherry. Bottled at the slightly higher strength of 43% ABV, this is definitely one to try from a very highly regarded distillery.
