At first this rum might appear just like any other Bacardi gold rum, but this “Reserva” is increasingly hard to find, particularly in some parts of Europe.

Bacardi Reserva is distilled at the distillery’s Puerto Rico site. This anejo spirit has been aged for between 4 and 6 years, and is charcoal filtered before bottling.

The result is a really well balanced rum, with a slightly smoky edge, and a well-defined dry profile. Notes of brown sugar, crème caramel, banana, biscuits and bread are present.

A far cry from the sweeter spirits in the Bacardi stable, this is a great value, well-crafted rum.
