The Facundo range is named after Barcardi’s founder, Don Facundo Bacardi Masso.

Neo, of course, translates as “new” – which is something of a misnomer, this rum is actually blend of spirits that have been aged for between 1 and 8 years, before being filtered through charcoal to remove colour and impurities. This process results in a white rum with far more character than the standard.

The bottling offers notes of pure powdered sugar, vanilla, some slight dried fruits, mashed bananas, a little charcoal bitterness, almonds, white pepper, cream, a little menthol and white chocolate.

A rare thing – a white rum that is good enough to be sipped neat or over ice. Facundo Neo would also elevate any cocktail it is used in. Truly exceptional stuff from Bacardi.
