One of the biggest names in rum, Appleton have been producing top quality Jamaican rum for 265 years. In their 11,000 pristine acres surrounded by the countryside of Nassau Valley, Appleton farm and process some of the finest sugar cane in the Caribbean. Distilled in copper pot stills, this rum has been aged for a minimum for 12 years in American oak barrels.
On the nose, this rum is nutty, with a clear brown sugar note, a good dose of woodspice, a slight barrel funk and a buttery vanilla. The palate is creamy and thick with molasses and dark sugar flavours. A little vanilla and fresh shortcake biscuit rounds off the palate. The finish is long and lingering with delicious dark sugar flavours and dense oak spice, becoming drying with time. One of the all-time great rums from Jamaica, ideal for sipping neat or on the rocks. A multi-awarding winning rum, renowned whisky and spirits writer Dave Broom declared this “the finest aged rum from Jamaica”.
