WhistlePig is known for their ability to bottle some of the very best rye on the market. Their rye whisky is made from 100% rye which is sourced from Canada, where the whisky spends the first part of its life slowly maturing. The whisky is then transferred to the WhistlePig farm in Vermont where it is finished in bourbon barrels.
The whisky is bottled at 10 years of age and at 100 proof (50% ABV). The result is a whisky that delivers everything you’d expect from a rye: clove, mint and toffee, along with a strong barrel influence. A superb, well-crafted whisky. We must applaud their Master Distiller, Dave Pickerell (he was previously the Master Distiller for Maker’s Mark for 14 years!).
