Another great aged grappa from Villa de Varda, a distiller located in the Trentino region of Northern Italy.
This grappa has been made with the pomace of the Teroldego grape, which is also produced in the Trentino region. The grape usually produces a spicy and acidic wine, with plenty of red fruit flavours.
Villa de Varda collect their pomace very fresh, often still dripping with juice. Pomace is carefully fermented with speciality yeasts, and distilled in traditional copper discontinuous stills. This grappa has been aged in Barriques used to hold wine at the Campo Maseri winery.
The result is a deeply fruity and flavoursome grappa, with notes of strawberry, raspberry, cherry, currants, red grapes, vanilla, almonds, toffee and wine tannins, with some slight spiced spice.
Each bottle comes with a smart wooden presentation box.
