Nose: Very keen island style: funky, salty, with a lot of earth. Sherried sultanas, with orange and lemon peel and honey smoke. Slight sandlewood.

Palate: A lot of funk and sherry again, salted caramel, lemon and orange, wood dust. Again slight earth and honey. Nuts and pepper.

Finish: Very long and spicy, with nice maritime butteriness.

Overall: A wonderful dram that really takes you by surprise- starting funky and earthy, and becoming intensely sweet and spicy by the end. Great whisky from a distillery to watch.
