A big bottle of this American made vodka, which has become one of the great success stories of US spirits in recent years.

The brand was created by Burt Butler “Tito” Beveridge II, who had previously worked in the gas and oil business. Tito held degrees in geology and geophysics, but grew tired of “chasing in the dollar” and returned to his homestate of Texas. As a hobby, he began to produce flavoured vodkas for friends, who suggested that the should trying selling his wares. The only problem was that flavoured vodkas weren’t particularly popular, and liquor shops suggested Tito would have better luck producing straight, Texas made vodka.

So that’s what Tito did, constructing a makeshift still out of outdoor fryers and cooper pipes. His fledging distillery soon ran into legislative problems, there had never been a legal distillery in Texas and permits were impossible to come by. Tito fought to get the laws changed, and eventually succeeded.

The vodka itself is made using American yellow corn, and distilled in small batches in pot stills. The vodka is distilled six times, and filtered for purity, with the result a crisp and refreshing spirit underpinned by notes of sweet yellow corn, vanilla, mixed spice, pepper and white chocolate.
