A top notched blended Japanese whisky from our good friends at Nikka.

First released in 2019, this dram replaced the sadly departed Nikka 12 bottling, though the quality certainly hasn’t dipped.

Tailored combines malt whisky from the company’s Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries, with a portion of Coffey still grain whisky thrown in for good measure.

The final product is a dram that serves up notes of ripe tropical fruits (mango, pineapple and banan) alongside some peach and apricot, and flavours of waxy citrus peel, brown sugar, bright grain sweetness, crunchy malt, vanilla custard, subtle oak, dark chocolate and milky coffee. A little peppery spice rounds off the finish nicely.

Bottled at 43% ABV, this is certainly a whisky tailored to perfection. Nikka suggest enjoying this whisky alongside a few squares of dark chocolate – delicious!
