A cracking peated dram from the Kurayoshi Distillery.

This Japanese whisky forms part of their Matsui series, and has been distilled in pot stills prior to a maturation in white oak bourbon casks.

Unsurprisingly, this dram is made with peated malt, and serves up notes of freshly roasted cereals, maritime peat, vanilla, brown sugar, wood ash, white pepper, toffee, apples, charred oak and smoke pears.

Bottled at a warming 48% ABV for a little extra body.
