A high quality Apricot liqueur from German company The Bitter Truth. Better known for their lip-smacking selection of cocktail bitters, they have also produced a stunning series of delicious liqueurs.
This is one such example, produced using the juice of sun-ripened apricots from the Klosterneuburg town in Southern Austria. This juice is combined with a schnapps produced from the same fruit, distilled with its pits to produce a slight almond flavour.
The result is a bright, sweet, fruity liqueur with notes of caramel, classic almond biscotti, stewed fruits, and slight creaminess.
Less sweet than many liqueurs, this would be a perfect ingredient in many cocktails (the most prominent being the Hotel Nacoinal), but is equally delicious served over crushed ice.
