Another delightful wine cask finished dram from Dublin’s Teeling distillery.
The Sommelier Selection series showcases the influence of wine casks on Teeling’s Irish whiskey.
A mixture of Irish pot still and single grain whiskey, the spirit has been finished for 18 months in wine casks from the Chateau Margaux estate – a Premier Cru winery which is world renowned for the quality of its Bordeaux blends.
This Irish dram offers up notes of freshly cracked black pepper, sweet red fruits (strawberries, raspberries and cherries), wine tannins, dark chocolate, brown sugar, grassy malt, caramel and cinnamon.
Bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration, this is a lush, satisfying dram.
Just 7,500 bottles were produced.
