A delicious Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port from the famed Taylor’s House – who were the pioneers of the LBV format.
After a dry winter and growing season, temperatures in the Douro Valley spring were higher than average. This prompted an early Véraison (the change of colour of the grape berry). The period just before harvest was milder, though still dry, and as a result the grapes were well preserved, with good concentration of flavour.
After production, the wine has been aged in oak barrels for four to six years. The final result is a beautiful, sweet wine with notes of red berries, plums, intense blackcurrant, herbal tea, dark chocolate, brown sugar, tannins and coffee bean.
Enjoy with blue cheese, or chocolaty deserts.
