A limited edition Singleton of Dufftown released as part of Diageo’s much anticipated 2020 Special Releases.
For the first time, an official bottling of Singleton of Dufftown has been aged in entirely refill American oak casks. The aim was to showcase fresh, bright flavours of the spirit itself, an ambition Diageo have accomplished with aplomb.
This bottling serves up notes of honeyed biscuits, vanilla pod, butter, fresh cut apples and pears, meadow flowers, hay-like malt, cut grass, custard, pastry, gentle oak, a little pepperiness and some soft raspberries with milk chocolate.
A refreshing, yet deceptively well matured dram, which has been bottled at a cask strength of 55.1% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration.
The 2020 Special Releases have continued the theme of “Rare by Nature” begun in 2019, and this bottle’s label features the Singleton “leaping fish” logo amongst wildflowers, brambles and leaves.
