A truly iconic Canadian Whisky blend from the famous, though sadly now-defunct, Canadian company Seagram’s. First created by the Seagram’s family after a lunch-time conversation, there is some debate as to what V.O. stands for. The obvious choice is that it means Very Old, though apparently it actually denotes “Very Own”, as it was the family’s personal blend. This whisky is created from spirit that has been aged in oak casks for at least 6 years. On the nose this is a sweet and fruity whisky, with a little cereal sweetness, dried fruit, lemon peel and orange juice. The palate is buttery and filling, with a medium body and flavours of clear honey, yoghurt, espresso, marmalade and strawberry jam. The finish is medium in length, with rye spice and a bright oak sweetness. An all time classic, and with good reason!
