A delicious single malt from Switzerland of all places! Better known for high quality chocolate, this single malt demonstrates that the world of whisky is growing all the time. There is a great history with the brand’s parent company, the Locher Brewery, which has been run by the Locher family for 5 years, producing high class beverages for over 100 years. This is a whisky produced from both malt and water sourced high in the mountains. The altitude creates a barley that is both resilient and flavoursome, perfect for producing a delicious malt whisky. This whisky has been aged in smaller oak barrels, creating an oakier flavour in the cold climes of the Swiss alps where maturation is slow. On the nose a sweet vanilla note is rich and full, with a hint of earthy oak and juicy apples. The palate is full and buttery, with a lovely malty vanilla, sugar, toffee and butterscotch. A few floral notes crop up here, with some red berries. The finish short and sweet, with a lovely does of vanilla malt.
