A truly delicious bottling of Guatemalan rum from Botran. This company’s warehouses are located at high altitude in the mountains of Guatemala which allows them to age their spirit for longer than other rum producers, as the temperature is lower.

This rum is produced from “virgin sugar cane honey”, and matured in a solera system containing several different cask types including Port, Sherry and Bourbon. This Solera system has been in action since 1893, and is a type of maturation often used in Sherry and brandy production.

The solera system is a continuous form of maturation which tops up each cask with spirit from the next oldest cask every time some is bottled. This produces an excellent balance of flavour between the older and younger components of the spirit.

This particular rum is rich in sweet, clear honey flavours, with some pressed flowers and rich dried fruit notes. A fantastic bottling that offers up luxury flavours at a superb price point.
