Another fantastic rum from Venezuelan rum company Pampero! First introduced in 1963 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the distillery, this extra anejo rum was produced in continuous stills. This is a blend of rums aged between 2 and 8 years old, aged in oak casks.
On the nose, this mahogany coloured rum offers up warm aromas of cocoa, vanilla, toffee, flowers and some leather. The palate is light and refreshing, with a classic estery quality. This rum is rich and fruity without being over sweet, maintaining an excellent balance throughout. After a while a little vanilla, oak and woodspice emerges, with some overripe banana flavours. The finish brings back the cocoa of the nose, and adds a little mocha as the flavours linger for some time. A wonderful, dark and intense rum, perfect for slow sipping.
