Oban’s entry into the 2021 Diageo Special Releases is a classic dram, typical of the distillery’s style.

This 12 year old whisky has been aged in freshly charred American oak casks, which lend a little smokiness to the spirit, and showcase its maritime nature.

Drinkers can expect notes of iodine, gentle woodsmoke, cinnamon, pepper, cloves, vanilla, toffee, creamy custard, dark oak, cornbread and marmalade.

Fiery stuff at 56.2% ABV, this is a superb Oban single malt.
