A unique whisky produced by two of the biggest names in the drinks industry. One of these is González Byass; one of the biggest bodegas in Jerez which dominates the city’s landscape with their sprawling complex. The other is Whyte & Mackay, who have been producing blended whiskies since 1844, and who own the Jura, Dalmore and Fettercairn distilleries. Nomad by name, nomad by nature, this whisky is a blended Scotch, aged in sherry butts in Scotland for over five years, before being shipped over to Jerez for an additional year’s aging in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. As the bottle proclaims, this whisky is “born in Scotland, raised in Jerez”. The result is a blended Scotch of unique flavour, with a fabulously sweet sherry funk to it, and wonderful malty tang. A real curiosity, and certainly one worth tasting.
