A fantastic Mexican rum produced in Cordoba by Licores Veracruz. Unlike the 10 year old bottling, which is matured in a solera system, this is a single barrel release which has been matured in one European white oak cask for 15 years. Cordoba is found in the south-central area of the nation, quite close to the Gulf of Mexico. This means that the area has a humid and tropical climate, perfect for the maturation of spirit. Over 15 years of slow aging, this rum has developed lovely notes of toffee, tobacco smoke, brown sugar and tropical fruits. Incredibly value for money, it is rare that you see a single barrel spirit of any description at such a low price, let alone a quality rum of 15 years of age. One that every rum drinker should be keen to try!
