An alluring Italian gin from Malfy. This gin is distilled by the Vergnano Family, at the Torino distillery, which has been operation since 1906.
Malfy claim that Italy is the birthplace of gin, pointing to juniper spirits distilled by monks back in the 11th century – though we think the Dutch might have a thing or two to say about that.
This gin takes its name from the Amalfi Coast, where some of the best citrus fruit in the world is ground. Citrus has a key role to play in this gorgeous blush gin, which is flavoured with Sicilian pink grapefruit and rhubarb, alongside classic gin botanicals of juniper and herbs.
The result is a rose coloured spirit, with flavours of powerful citrus, breakfast juice, tart rhubarb, earthy spice, and bittersweet juniper.
This gin makes for an interesting and flavoursome base for cocktails, but is also delicious splashed over ice and served with a wedge of pink grapefruit. A real summertime tipple.
