A 10 year old peated single malt from the Tobermory distillery on Isle of Mull, bottled at 46.3%, non-chill-filtered and natural colour. The Ledaig label is only peated whisky from the Tobermory dsistillery. A really solid peated single malt, well worthy as an entry to the world of peat.
Nose: Light peat and salinity, succulent wood smoke- a lot like a mezcal. Rich toffee with walnuts and malt. Almonds and toasted hazelnuts.
Palate: Medium with a rich oily mouthfeel. Slightly pungent light peat, more nuts and toffee. Melting caramel and buttered toast. A little earth, and spicy white pepper.
Finish: Quite short, sweet with spicy smoke.
Overall: A lovely aperitif style whisky from Tobermory. Accessible peat is married by a nice rounded sweetness and nuttiness, perfect for a speyside fan who wants to try something with just a little peat.
