An exceptional Marc de Bourgogne from Joseph Cartron.
The Cartron company is found in the heart of Burgundy, in the famous town of Nuits-Saint-Georges. Here they have been making top quality liqueurs and eaux-de-vie since 1882. Few bottlings can be of a better quality than this one though – a pomace brandy which has aged for 15 years.
Cartron source their red wine pomace from the very finest crus in the Burgundy region: Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Aloxe-Corton, Volnay and Pommard. This Marc de Bourgogne has been made with Pinot Noir grapes.
The final result is a fruity, woody spirit with notes of peppery spice, mint, vanilla, dried fruits, tannic red grapes, grape juice, green wood, old oak, sandalwood, dark chocolate, and flowers.
An extraordinary achievement. The spirit is bottled at 45% ABV for extra body and depth.
