A part of Diageo’s much hyped Game of Thrones series, this Johnnie Walker bottling is inspired by the supernatural White Walkers from the HBO show.

When creating this dram, Johnnie Walker’s master blenders took inspiration from the frigid lands Beyond the Wall, where the White Walkers originate. As such they decided to use a base of Clynelish, which is found in the far north of the Highlands – “the land of always winter”.

The whisky was created to be placed in the freezer, and once cooled, a hidden aspect of the bottle’s striking Game of Thrones themed design will be revealed… No spoilers here!

The final result is light and fruity with notes of bittersweet lemon, orange, honeysuckle, beeswax, vanilla, bright oak, grain sweetness, apple, toffee, caramel and toasted bread. The dram grows in complexity as it warms up and reveals more flavours.

Bottled at 41.7% ABV for a little extra texture and flavour, this is an intriguing and rather delicious dram.
