A much loved blended malt from Johnnie Walker which disappeared for a few years, but is thankfully back with us. This is a real beauty, free from any grain whisky, and thus emphasising a wonderful malty quality. Cragganmore, Talisker and Caol Ila all feature prominently in this blended malt, pairing together some top-quality whiskies. The nose is packed with waves upon waves of delicate aromas, with thick coffee notes, full wood smoke, slightly sulphuric sherry. The palate is rich and full, with a core of sweet malt, plain chocolate, toasted nuts and raisins. On the finish, notes of honeyed malt, orchard fruits and hay linger for some time. This fantastic blended malt was given a Liquid Gold Award by Jim Murray in his 2014 Whisky Bible, and its easy to see why!
