One of the very finest bottlings to be produced by the world famous Jameson brand, based at Midleton distillery.
The whiskey is made from a blend of single grain and single pot still spirits, and aged for 18 years in a mixture of former Bourbon American oak casks and ex sherry barrels. The spirit then spends an extra year in first-fill Bourbon barrels at the distillery’s Bow Street, Dublin warehouse.
This warehouse can hold less than 90 casks at a time, ensuring that this is truly a small batch bottling. Indeed, it is only released once a year.
The final result is a rich and flavoursome Irish dram, packed with notes of toffee, red berries, sherried dried fruits, classic pot-still grassiness, herbs, plums, spice, chocolate, tobacco, vanilla and a rich, creamy oak.
Bottled at a cask strength of 55.3% ABV, this is a dram that powerfully asserts its flavours.
Truly an exceptional bottling, each of the different cask maturations is fully on show.
