We make no secrets of being big fans of Rhum Agricole here at Fine Drams, and this is a cracking example of the Martinique style.
Based upon the pressed and fermented juice of the sugar cane, rather than any sugar by-product. This produces a fresher, more fragrant rum, with a light, fruity body.
This particular Agricole has been aged for no less than 12 years in the tropical heat of Martinique, giving it a dense range of flavour, dark colour and complexity.
Drinkers can expect a range of tropical fruits notes, fragrant tobacco, vanilla custard, light herbs, dense oak and woodspice. These flavours are given a considerable boost by the 45% ABV strength.
Presented in a distinctive pyramid style bottle (in use by the company since the early 1930’s) with a wax seal, this is a quality product throughout.
