Named after the famous hills on the Isle of Jura, so called because they resemble breasts.
This whisky is initially matured in former Bourbon American oak casks before a finishing period in Pedro Ximénex casks (which held the sherry for 40 years!), the whisky has been aged for 19 years, an excellent age for a malt whisky.
The result is a beautiful dram, packed with sweet sherry flavours, and the classic oily peat that Jura is known for. A rich, delicious dram that serves up notes of dried fruit, barbecued peaches, vanilla, toffee, coffee, oily nuts, sea spray, and other maritime flavours.
Bottled at 45.8% ABV for a little extra warmth mouthfeel, this is one of the better Jura whiskies on the market.
