One of the most prized and beloved Cognacs on the market today, this is Hennessy’s impressive XO bottling.
Hennessy’s XO expression dates back to 1870, when it was first developed by Maurice Hennessy, who blended extremely old eaux-de-vie, initially just for his friends and family.
The quality as remained a very high level to this day, containing a blend of more than 100 different eaux-de-vie from the four premier cru of the Cognac region (Grande and Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois), long aged in French oak casks. Some barrels included in this blend have been deliberately left to age in certain auspicious parts of the Hennessy warehouses for decades.
The final product is a well polished and perfectly balanced XO, that serves up notes of dark leather and polished tannic oak, raisins and prunes, vanilla, dark chocolate, rancio, cinnamon, cracked black pepper, sweet grapes, tobacco, black tea and sandalwood.
Hennessy XO is beautifully presented in a decanter style bottle.
