This popular bottling from Glenmorangie’s Extra Matured Range received a reformulation back in 2019.

Gone is the 12 year age statement, but the distillery states Nectar d’Or retains “all the sumptuously sweet flavours that come from its highly prized rare Sauternes cask finish.” It’s also a little easier on the wallet.

The dram has been aged initially in former Bourbon casks, before a finishing period in barrels that previously held the sweet, rich Semillon wine, Sauternes.

The result is a whisky that serves up notes of malty bread, honey, ginger, orange rind, toffee, shortbread biscuits, vanilla, white wine, flowers, cream and butter.
