Another excellent addition to the Glenlivet’s much loved Nàdurra range. Nàdurra translates from the Gaelic as “Natural”, and thus the whisky is presented without any dilution (the whisky weighs in at a hefty 61.5%), chill filtration or colouring. This lovely dram was matured in first fill bourbon barrels before being finished in casks that held heavily peated whisky. The whisky used to season these casks is understood to have been a peated Speysider. The result is a traditional style of Speyside whisky, close to what the founders would have recognised as whisky of that region. It was not until after the industrial revolution that Speyside whisky took its unpeated form that we know today. This is a delicious, spicy dram, with beautiful tangy citrus peel, deeply sweet bourbon notes and a fizzy peat which adds an extra layer of complexity.
