Glenfarclas has an enviable reputation in the whisky industry. Almost universally respected by whisky drinkers for doing this the right way, the company has been family run since 1865. Glenfarclas are renowned for their considerable collection of old stock, and rich sherry influence. This fantastic bottling is a testament to both these qualities, with it having lain in Oloroso sherry casks for a full 30 years. These three decades in the cask have produced a whisky of peerless complexity and depth. The nose greets the drinker with wonderful notes of toasted almond, muscovado sugar, plump raisins and cloves. On the palate, the mouthfeel is thick and chewy, with flavours of dense fruit cake, prunes, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish recalls this whisky’s tremendous age, with a superb length and deep oakiness that rewards patience. A typically wonderful old Glenfarclas release.
The best out of all the 30yrs. Any brands.
