Better known simply as Galliano, this Italian liqueur enjoys global popularity.
First created back in 1896 by Arturo Vaccari, a brandy producer in Livorno, Tuscany, the liqueur takes its name from Giuseppe Galliano, an Italian military officer of the late 19th century. It is now produced by the iconic Bols distillery in Holland.
Known for its amber hue and sweet vanilla flavour, Galliano includes ingredients of star anise, juniper, musk yarrow, peppermint, cinnamon and lavender. A little caramel provides the liqueur with its signature colour and sweetness.
Galliano is perfect for drinking as a digestivo after a meal, or in 70s and 80s style cocktails such as the Harvey Wallbanger.
