Whisky is often referred to in musical terms- a dram might really “sing”, notes work in “harmony” and “glissando” on the palate- yet this special release from Edradour has more claim than most to a melodious nature. Caledonia is a whisky specially selected by none other than Douglas “Dougie” MacLean, the whisky being named after his 1977 hit “Caledonia”. The whisky itself has been finished in Oloroso casks for four years, and was first distilled in 1997. Bottled at 46% and without chill filtration or artificial colouring this whisky will appeal to whisky purists as well as patriotic Scots and folk music fans! The miniature bottling also offers a great chance to “try before you buy”- what’s not too like!
