A powerfully flavoursome cask strength whisky from Highland distillery Edradour for their heavily peated series, Ballechin.

This is the first batch of what presumably will be a regular part of the distillery’s range going forward. The spirit has been aged for 13 years in a combination of former Bourbon barrels and Oloroso Sherry casks.

The end result is a dram that offers notes of thick wood smoke, plum jam, honey, earthy peat, cacao nibs, raisins, burnt nuts, toffee, liquorice, cloves, citrus rind, toffee and burnt oak.

Another delicious dram from this range, and sitting at a cask strength of 54.9% ABV, this is a perfect mix of power and maturity.
