Produced in Lannemaignan, a French town with just over 100 residents, Domaine le Basque is just one of the many tiny independent producers that contribute to the Armagnac industry.
This single vintage Armagnac was made with grapes grown in the area around Lannemaignan, which is known for its chalky soil, perfect for producing a crop with the perfect level of acidity for distillation.
The spirit has been well matured in French oak casks, and offers up notes of subtle cigar smoke, toffee, vanilla, rancio, pressed flowers, white grapes, dried fruits, chocolate and leather.
Bottled at 46% ABV for a little more warmth and intensity, this is a top notch, well crafted Bas-Armagnac.
