Dictador’s highly regarded ‘Best Of’ series showcases single vintages of some of the oldest and rarest rums in the Colombian distillery’s reserves.
This 1987 vintage has been aged in an ex-Sherry cask for no less than 27 years, a staggering age for a rum in the South American climate. The rum was finished for another three years in former whisky casks, with a final maturity of 30 years.
A rich, opulent rum is the final product, with the spirit rich in notes of deep dried fruits (sultanas, dates and prunes), clove studded orange rind, nutmeg, molasses, dark chocolate, vanilla custard, maple sugar, toasted dark oak, pecans, walnuts and slight tobacco.
Dictador’s ‘Best Of’ rums are bottled without colouration or added sugar – a pure taste of the high quality spirit.
Bottled at 45%, for extra body and depth.
