Another fantastic release forming part of Dictador’s stellar “Best of” range. Each of these rums have been hand-picked by master distiller, Hernan Parra.
Parra uses an interesting, almost “single barrel solera” technique. Here, the master distiller chooses one barrel, then tops it up with spirit from the year, to ensure that the vintage of the spirit remains unadulterated, but evaporation is kept under control.
This rum has developed a rarely seen level of maturity, gained over its extraordinarily long aging process. Notes of dense citrus, dried tropical fruits, prunes, plums and toasted bananas immediately greet the drinker, followed by a wave of dark brown sugar, honey, oak, mocha and cinnamon.
The rum is bottled at 45.5% ABV, allowing the flavours to really assert themselves.
The bottling is beautifully presented, with hand labelling and signatures. Just 300 were produced worldwide. A genuine rarity, and one of the best spirits this distillery has to offer.
