Presented in a beautiful decanter, this whisky is (as the name suggests) Extra Rare. Few Canadian whiskies have the reputation of this one, with critics praising its nutty, maple-led palate. Each batch of Crown Royal XR contains some of the last whisky to be distilled at former owners Seagram’s distilleries. The first release in 2006 contained some of last whisky to be distilled at the closed distillery in Waterloo, Ontario, whilst this batch is made up of some of the last whisky to made at the LaSalle distillery in Quebec. Naturally, as these are both lost distilleries, stock is extremely scarce and bottles of this whisky highly limited, so fans of Crown Royal should act fast to try this fantastic expression.
