The slightly older brother to Courvoisier’s VS entry bottling, this Cognac has been aged for a minimum for between 8 and 12 years in a mixture of Limousin and Troncais oak barrels. The House still select the four finest “crus” (roughly translating as “growths” or “vintages”)- Grand Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fine Bois for this VSOP bottling. This bottle has a little bit more complexity and spice than the VS, the fine-grain of the French oak adding a beautiful nuttiness. Drinkers will likely find a unique espresso note that makes this drink the perfect after-dinner partner to an Italian style espresso, and ideal for an interesting take on the espresso martini.
