One of the world’s most famous spirits, this Cognac is known as “the toast of Paris”. A favourite of many notable drinkers from Napoleon, who famously took several hundred bottles for his period in exile, to Gustave Eiffel, who toasted his extraordinary achievements with a glass of Courvoisier, to Hip-Hop stars such as Busta Rhymes. The House of Courvoisier have been making Cognac for nearly 200 years, so know a thing or two about perfecting the spirit. Courvoisier select what they consider to be the four finest “crus” (roughly translating as “growths” or “vintages”)- Grand Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois to make their spirits. The final product is a wonderfully balanced, wine-rich, slightly dry Cognac, equally suited to before and after dinner duties. The original inspiration for many of the true “classic” cocktails such as the Champagne Cocktail, the Sazerac and the Brandy Crusta, but equally enjoyable neat. One of the all time classics of the spirits industry, and wonderful value too, a must-try for all serious drinkers.
