A single cask of rum from Clarendon, distilled in 1997 and bottled free of dilution or any additives in 2023. Cask #432893 was aged for 22 years tropically, with the remainder in Europe.
On the nose, this rum shows off a sharp kiwi, mineral, and sweet rubber cement notes. The palate shows a lot of funk upfront, revealing dark notes of worn wooden bartop, milk chocolate brownie, funky citrus, and a bit of superglue. It hangs around with a funky melon note and some tannic spice and grip, likely owing to the impressive age. A fun example of the results of tropically long aging Jamaican rums.
Due to pandemic-related delays this rum was not bottled in September 2021 as expected. It further aged in cask in the Fine Drams warehouse in Denmark until bottling took place in April 2023.
336 bottles were produced.
