A single cask of rum from Clarendon, distilled in 1995 and bottled free of dilution or any additives in 2023. Cask #433946 was aged for 24 years tropically, with the remainder in Europe.
On the nose, this rum shares a wood shop full of exotic dark lumber, orange peel, and a bit of medicinal funk. The palate gives a strong dry curacao note, long with some sweet plastic, sour honeydew, and earthy dry spice. That leads into a finish of fruity rubber, and plenty more of that cedar and redwood dusty dry spice. The nice round mouthfeel balances back the tannins that have accumulated over such extended tropical aging.
Due to pandemic-related delays this rum was not bottled in September 2021 as expected. It further aged in cask in the Fine Drams warehouse in Denmark until bottling took place in April 2023.
475 bottles were produced.
