A super premium French vodka backed by none other than Sean “Diddy” Combs (FKA as Puff Daddy).
Ciroc is made using grapes from the Charente-Maritime region, which includes heartlands of Cognac production. The specific grapes are Mauzac Blanc from the Gaillac region of France, and Ugni Blanc from the Cognac region. The grapes are harvested when frozen. Both sets of grapes are pressed and fermented, before being separately distilled: the Mauzac Blanc grapes are distilled in continuous copper stills, whilst the Ugni Blanc is distilled four times in stainless steel column stills. The two distillates are then combined, with 95% being Ugni Blanc and 5% Mauzac Blanc. The final distillation occurs in a traditional Armagnac alembic.
The result is a slightly sweet and extremely clean vodka, with notes of fresh flowers, slight spice, white grapes and a creamy palate.
Cîroc’s name is a portmanteau of the French words cime, meaning peak, and roche, meaning rock – a reference to the high altitudes that their grapes grow at, but also their position at the pinnacle of vodka.
An increasingly stylish and popular vodka, Ciroc certainly adds a certain “je ne sais quoi” to cocktails.
