Caol Ila Distiller’s Edition is always a popular release, with its pairing of peaty spirit and sweet wine a sure fire hit.

This particular edition was distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2015, having been finished in Moscatel casks. Moscatel is a musky sweet wine produced across Europe, but mostly found in Spain, France and Portugal.

The use of this finish really improves Caol Ila’s already superb spirit, lending it delicious sweet grape notes, and a rich fruity spice.

Bottled at 43% ABV, the extra strength gives this whisky a little kick.

Presented in a darker, bold packaging, this reflects the darker tones of this lovely limited edition release.
