A bottling which celebrates the special relationship between Camus and the Borderies cru, the smallest of all the crus of the Cognac region. Camus has held land in the Borderies for over 150 years, and for five generations. This series has been a part of the Camus range since 2012, released annually, to great anticipation.
Camus is one of the largest estates in the Borderies area, with more than nearly 450 acres of Folle Blanche, Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes. Each of these grape varieties provides something different to the Cognac, ensuring a well rounded spirit.
This 2015 edition VSOP has been matured in French Oak casks for a minimum of 3 years, though in practice, the average age often exceeds this.
This youthful spirit allows the flavours of the grape and the effects of the unique Borderies terroir to take hold. A floral, peppery and sweet Cognac, drinkers can expect plenty of fresh grape, apples and pears and rich vanilla honeysuckle notes, with some slight flavours of woodsmoke and citrus peel. A little flinty earth appears on the finish.
Each of these bottles is numbered, with this Camus bottling being limited in availability. A superb annual release – one that every Cognac fan should try.
