An impressively flavoursome spirit from Camus, the largest of the family owned Cognac Houses.
This VS Cognac has been distilled in a way to maximises esters and terpenes, which increase flavour and aroma, creating what the distillery describes as ‘an instant of intensity’. Notably, the spirit is distilled upon the lees, which adds weight and complexity to the final product.
In order to showcase the flavours of the spirit itself, this Cognac has been aged for a minimum of two years in older, lightly toasted, fine grained oak, so that the casks did not overwhelmed fruity flavours and aromas of the spirit.
The end result is a Cognac with notes of pressed flowers, ripe pears, jasmine, mango, light flaked almonds, bananas, pineapple, fresh white grapes, subtle sweet wine, gentle oak and chamomile tea.
A really interesting product – beautifully presented too.
