A superb Bunnahabhain bottling from the fine folk at Signatory Vintage.

Staoisha is the name given to Bunna’s heavily peated spirit – which offers a different profile from the Islay distillery’s standard fare. This 2014 vintage was aged in first and second fill Oloroso Sherry butts until December 2022.

The result is a seriously peaty dram, with notes of thick peat smoke, leather, red berries, smoked meats, wood smoke, ash, creamy vanilla, liquorice, black pepper, hot cinnamon, dried grapes, toasted nuts and subtle plums.

A really well made whisky, and a great example of peated Bunnahabhain.
